I have heard these comments or something similar quite frequently on my SimplySchnauzers Discussion Forum. So many times, new members have registered there and told the same sad stories: “The breeder won’t help us when we call to ask questions.” “Our puppy is sick but the breeder won’t take it back.” “The vet says we bought an unhealthy puppy. We can’t get in contact with the breeder.”
All of these problems could have been avoided if the puppy buyers had been well-prepared in advance of buying a puppy. They needed the kind of advice and background knowledge we provide in our guide books, Be Puppy Smart….A Guide to Buying your Puppy.
Buying a puppy from the internet can be dangerous (to your pocketbook) if you don’t know the right clues to look for on a website. You are probably setting yourself up for heartbreak if you do not know the correct series of questions to ask to determine if a breeder is responsible and cares more about her puppies than about the money she is hoping to receive.
